Roots' Turbine FactoryWe are pleased to announce that the team have been nominated for a Green Energy Award for their University work.

Their project, entitled ‘The Isle of Tiree Centre for Renewable Energy’, imagined how the physical and cultural landscape of Tiree would change if the proposed Argyll Array offshore wind-farm went ahead.

This involved creating an ‘energy masterplan’ which imagined how the community could reduce their carbon footprint before, during and after the construction of the wind farm.

The project was well received at University, earning Micheal his PGDip in Advanced Architectural Design. It was also well received on Tiree when it was exhibited to the public in August 2009.
