Professional Architect Exam

, Subject : Technical

Micheal recently sat his Part 3 written exam in Professional Practice and Management.  This is the final qualification required before you can use the legally-protected title of ‘Architect’. This is widely to considered to be the most intensive exam in architectural education, where the student is required to answer ten complex scenario-based questions in 48 hours.

This inevitably involves lots of decision-making and having had very little sleep and at the end of the process Micheal was left questioning whether this was really the most effective way of testing seven years of training. The submission also includes a 2,000 word Evaluation of Experience and 6,000 word Case Study. Micheal now has an interview in March before finding out whether he has passed.

We would be really interested in hearing from anyone who has gone through this process. We would like to know what you think of the exam and its place in architectural education.
