Argyll Array Workshop

Roots are delighted to be working with Tiree Trust to consider how the proposed Argyll Array might effect the Isle of Tiree.

The Argyll Array is a proposed off-shore wind-farm 5km from Tiree which will could produce enough energy for 1,000,000 households. An industrial development of this scale will bring significant changes across all areas of island life.

The Tiree Trust feels it is imperative that the community is prepared to deal with the windfarm, should it go ahead, and so it has been actively involved in a number of initiatives to try to protect Tiree’s interests. Part of this involves an upcoming open day where analysis has been conducted in a number of key areas.

Roots are working on the Design and Construction ‘vectors’ to document the island’s current position and to make informed suggestions on how Design and Construction issues should be approached in the future, based on local historical precedents and relevant national developments.

Once again, Roots are delighted to be involved with such an important community project, and we look forward to seeing you at the event.
