Professional Architectural Qualification

Roots Director Micheal recently passed his Part 3 in Professional Practice and Management.  This represents the final qualification required before one can legally use the protected title of ‘Architect’.

Micheal has spent the past 9 months studying toward this goal and has had to complete a number of tasks in that time.  These have included a 2,000 word Evaluation of Experience, a 6,000 word Case Study and a 48-hour written exam.  The whole process culminated in an hour-long interview from experienced practitioners where Micheal was questioned on these tasks and his general experience in the profession to-date.  Fortunately, it was worth the effort as Micheal received his ‘pass’ letter in the post this weekend!

We would be really interested in hearing from anyone who has gone through this process themselves.  We would like to know what you think of the exam and its place in architectural education.
