Roots Director Micheal is excited to announce that he will be attending the acclaimed ‘Ghost 13’ Conference entitled ‘Ideas in Things’ in Nova Scotia this June.

Ghost is an international architectural ‘laboratory’ run by MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects where students + practitioners design small structures inspired by the dramatic coastal landscape and indigenous boat building techniques. There is then an emphasis on ‘learning by doing’ as the team build their designs in the master-builder-apprentice tradition.

Micheal has long been fascinated by this approach to architecture and the romance created by the remoteness of Nova Scotia. He is looking forwards to the opportunity to discuss these ideas with like-minded professionals from all over the world, including Brian MacKay-Lyons, Glenn Murcutt and Rural Studio.
