Transforming Landscapes Exhibition OpeningRoots were delighted to attend the opening of the Transforming Landscapes exhibition in Glasgow.  The exhibition celebrates the work of acclaimed Norwegian practice Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter.

The opening began with an introduction from the Norwegian Ambassador and a lecture from Reiulf Ramstad where he explained the design of selected case studies from the exhibition.

Roots Director Micheal commented ‘I’ve been a huge fan of RRA’s since I read about their summerhouse in Hvaler.  It was inspiring to hear Reiulf describing his approach to the landscape in each project, whether it was measuring contours in 10cm intervals or leaving different materials out on site over winter to see how they behave.  The resulting exhibition, the centre of which is a series of beautifully crafted models, shows the practice is translating these sensibilities into all scales of their work – from small cabins to complex public buildings.’

The exhibition runs until the 2nd March 2012.
