Progress continues at Creagan Cottage

, Subject : Design

Roots Design Workshop recently enjoyed a site visit to inspect progress at Creagan Cottage, a blackhouse renovation on the Isle of Tiree.

The project, which will transform a derelict dwelling into a contemporary family house, has made significant progress since Roots Design Workshop’s last visit.

Micheal, who is Project Architect, said ‘Work has reached the stage where you can really get a sense of what the spaces will be like upon completion.  We’ve put a lot of effort into make the project sit low in the landscape but feel deceptively large and bright inside – so it is very satisfying to see this starting to take shape.  The upstairs, which doesn’t look out of proportion from outside, is taller than any other blackhouse renovation I’ve seen!’

More information about this project will be added as it progresses so please keep an eye on our website for future updates.
