Roots invited to present at SEDA and GIA Gatherings

, Subject : Recognition

Roots Design Workshop has been invited to present at two prestigious architectural events in Glasgow.

The first of these is the Scottish Ecological Design Association’s (SEDA) ‘Green Drinks’.  Micheal has been asked to explore a rural perspective of how ecological design has helped with Roots’ ethos and business start-up.  Micheal will use examples of the work which Roots and Tog Studio have produced.  He will share the stage with Matt McKenna of Dress for the Weather, who will explore the same question from an urban viewpoint.  The ‘Green Drinks’ take place in the New Glasgow Society at 6pm on Thursday 28th March.  There are more details here.

The second of these presentations will be to the Glasgow Incorporation of Architects (GIA) AGM on 17th April at the Glasgow Art Club.   Micheal will again present the work of Roots and Tog Studio alongside four other up-an-coming Glasgow-based practices.  There are more details here.

Micheal commented that, ‘We are really pleased to have been recognised as practice whose work and ethos are of interest to others.  Invitations like this help us reflect upon what we’ve done before and where we’re going next – I only hope that the presentations are as interesting to other people as there are to us!’
