Iona Abbey

  • March 2014 - Ongoing

Roots Design Workshop are working with the Iona Community to investigate ways to renovate the inside of the accommodation facilities in Iona Abbey.  This once-in-a-generation project attempts to improve the sustainability credentials of the original building, make significant portions wheelchair-accessible and celebrate historical features which have been hidden by previous renovation projects.

The project is still at an early stage where design options are being presented to the many statutory bodies who are interested in such a historically significant building.
